The studio has been totally obsessed with Carmen Argote’s work recently. We were introduced to her multifaceted project, A Vast Furniture, through our connection to the High Desert Test Sites project Andrea Zittel’s A-Z West organization has been staging in Joshua Tree CA for the last 15 or so years. In 2011 we created Here There, There Here, a 2mile long by 5ft wide white line in the desert at almost the same location as Carmen recently installed her “tracing” of the infamous Rudolf Schindler “Kings Road House” built in Hollywood in 1922. We have been talking with Carmen Argote about her work via Skype a bunch lately and hope to collaborate with her at some point.

It’s projects like this that come along and totally energizer and inspire us that make our work worth doing. The amount of love and wonder we’ve felt is beyond words.

We’re more anxious
to see what “it”
will become,
than we are to try
for what we want
it to be.
