Tim and Kathy Harding are both working artists who’d lived about an hour from the city in Marine on St Croix. They decided to build a modular home with our friends from Hive. We were hired to create a space to work with the site and be in conversation with the structure’s geometry and the aura of its materials.

We brought the cladding from the house out into the yard via the retaining walls and created a entrance to the home from the street that, through some turns, forces a visitor to look out at the expansive native plantings. It’s a gentle, contemplative environment that gets better each year as things mature and continue becoming what they are.
